CoCo Ree Lemery is a dynamic creative force and a dedicated educator. She is a highly acclaimed American artist and designer who has received numerous awards for her outstanding contributions to the world of furniture design. A former Design Director, CoCo creates best-selling products sold at retailers such as Pottery Barn, Nieman Marcus, Jonathan Adler, and Williams Sonoma. Her work garnered widespread recognition with awards such as NYCxDesign Awards, A’ Design Awards, European Product Design Awards, International Furniture Design Association, WIL awards, and the Pinnacle Awards.
With a background as a Scenographer, CoCo has developed unique environments for clients such as Fox Studios, Ralph Lauren, and the Adler Planetarium. It was this body of work that led her to be presented with the 2017 Michael Merritt Award.
A flexible style rooted in place and an obsession with the objects that surround us, CoCo has kept a very active artistic practice throughout her career. A lifelong educator, CoCo worked with students at the University of Chicago, Hope College, North Central College, After School Matters, and Savannah College of Art & Design. Currently, CoCo is the Visiting Professor of Industrial & Furniture Design at Purdue University, Creative Director for Studio Kloak, and Adjunct Faculty at UIC where she uses her immense experience to guide students on the path toward successful creative careers. Her practice-based research investigates the impact of AI on Craft and Design.
